I am waiting for my new Hypersonic laptop...

I find it weird that there realy is no negative posts here on laptops made by hypersonic...I have to believe that any such posts get deleted..........I was a big Fan of Dell untill recently...they have turned into the Wal * Marts of the PC industry...I wont go into details on how Dell lost my business, I had done business with them since 1998...anyway...I will give Dell credit on their forums, they dont delete posts even if negative with harsh criticism unless the person keeps harping on the same complaint. I sure hope yall dont delete harsh criticism or Harsh Complaints...I believe when a person pays the price that Companies like Hypersonic...Alienware.....Voodoo and Falcon Northwest charge for a pc system they should be intitled to submit harsh criticism if they feel that what they got wasnt what the paid for or if their system was inferior....Pc's by the above builders are not cheap and not everyone can afford one...also word of mouth advertisement is far better than even a muti million dollar commercial and has lasting effects...Again its just hard to belive that there is only one negative post here on Hypersonic.

Ok with all that said, I ordered my sytem from Hypersonic on the 9th of this month my specs are below, I decided to forgo the paint job...being an old Hot Rod Builder and Desktop Computer Builder...I go for whats under the hood and dont worry about the eye candy.....

I opted for only a one year warranty because I can do any repairs that need be done myself after the year is up.....I also opted not to get the Disaster Recovery set..well because I can make my own restoration disks after I get this thing loaded with all my own software and games by using Norton Ghost, been using it since 2000 and its got to be the best recovery/back-up utilty/software out there, I may also upgrade the sound later on down the road, first thing is to see just how good Hypersonic 's laptops are.

I will post a review as soon as I get it..it looks like the ship date will be on the 23 of this month, currently its showing the system has been accepted and built, this system was about 4 grand and I never paid more than 3 grand for a laptop, I bought the wife a Qosmio G-25 last christmas and its a sweet system for under 3 grand...the video card is why I didnt buy another for me, its a good card but not a top card for gaming, it did have Raid-0 Hard drives and thats another reason why I went Hypersonic, I like the performance you get out of a Raid-0 Configuration...I was gonna buy a Voodoo system but I was able to save a few grand with this Hypersonic System...I hope it lives up to its hype.

I usualy get or build a new system every 2 years when the new tech is worth the cost. I usualy will sell the older system to a friend or co-worker.....I am trying to start a smal Gaming PC business in which I will build Gaming desktops for now..laptops sometime in the future....Contractors have just finished erecting my building, its not real big.....but it will work for now...4 of us can work comfortably in it with no problems...and its on my own property...I have a great reputation up here for repairing and building high end desktops, but not enough business to do it full time, but I am getting things lined up in hopes that with 2-3 years I may be able to do it full time but right now I have a great job with exellent pay and benifits and we are a union company with retirement benifits and great health and life insurance...I owned my own business in Florida (electrical) years ago and understand what goes into owning a business so with this venture I am going real slow and doing tons of re-search......

Ok...a little about me...I am an old fart...over 46 years old...I am an Industriial Electrician / Electronics Instrumentation Tech...I have worked in this feild for many many years...I worked out in the Gulf Of Mexico on Off-Shore Oil Rigs and Platforms...also in Industriial Chemical Plants (sulfuric acid and copper mining) right now I am working for a world wide Mineral Mining Company (undergraound mining), we get marble / Limestone from deep in the mountain and our stone is rich in Calcium Carbonate, if you take tums or rolaids your eating our marble dust ...lol...its also used as a filler for many many products like carpet backing..plastic....rubber tires...paint pigment.....roofing tiles.....swiming pool agragate...fertilizer.......acents in gardens (since Georgia Marble is the purist and most white marble in the world its also crushed into smnaller rocks and used i carden.....90% of the marble you see In Washington DC and In New York came out of one of our mines Here in the mountains of Georgia...Lincoln...Jefferson monuments were made from our stone and the statues were made by our stone cutters back then...just about all the grave headstones for military personal are made by us.....I am also regular tester for great bunch of gaming Developers.....thats great because I usualy get to play new games anywhere from 6 months to a year before it even gets mentioned to the public....so by the time the game even gets to beta I have been playing it for months...so after its released and hits stores I usualy have an unfair atvantage in mp playing for the first couple of months.......

Ok that enough of an indtroduction........I cant wait to check out my systems...I hope it ships before the date I see posted when I log onto my account at Hypersonic...

My Desktop specs are below...I built this system myself and its a screamer....I would have gone sli but that tech wasnt available when I built it.. ......I first had the 6800 gt card which was the top card when I built it and the 3.4 HT P-4 without 64 bit...but as you see below I have upgraded those 2 parts...my next desktop may have the quad cards....first I have to see if they are realy worth the costs..right now games arent realy made to take full atvantage of this..but I will add a Physics Card to this system in Sept, From what I have read games will take advantage of this tech faster than they will of a Quad Video Card set-up...games havent even taken atvantage of Dual Core cpu's yet,
thats the reason why I went with the High End P-4 with HT instead of a Dual Core System...again I think we are still a year or maybe two years before developers realy start to take atvantage of Dual core CPU's or even Dual Core or Quad GPU's...but Physics Card will add more boost for the bucks this year........and from what I am seeing this tech is awesome and will realy add to the gaming experience..specialy with 1st person shooters War Games like Brothers In Arms.....Call Of Duty 2..although I dont think those games were made to take advantage of the physics cards..I was using those 2 as an example..both are 2 of my favorites...I love the WW-II era 1st person shooter games........I am praying that we will have a bunch of new ones by the end of this year

Welcome to the list Mountain Man. I am also new to the list and I am waiting on my FX7. I ordered mine one day before you did, but I went with custom graphics and I am sure it will take some time for them to complete it. I to left Dell, I think that they are losing many old customers. I did look at their gaming laptop, XPS and they did not offer what I wanted. I hope that there should not be too many negative posts for a company like hypersonic. As I think you know these are not your send down the belt and have someone slamming as many together in a day as they can. Those of us how buy from them know the quality of the product.
You will find some posts with problems that some have had. If posts are deleted, than one of the members that have been here longer would haft to answer that for you.

Congrats on your new system purchase. I have had my Aviator EX7 since December without a single flaw. I am sure you will enjoy your system which should be pretty soon since you did not get a Reflexxion series paint job.

thanks yall, I am looking forward to checking this baby out.....also if you get a chance..look at Dell..they have another special edition XPS system out..they are trying hard to get gamers to buy their machines.....I dont think a gamer would buy but one time from them...back in 2000 they were a good company...great tech support...great ustomer support...today in my opinion they are at the bottom of the list...its a shame.......everything I have read about hypersoic is impressive and promising..again thanks for the welcome....

^ actually alot of "gamers," buy laptops from dell. Alot of people have the 9300, alot have the xps 170, and some have the xps 1710, and alot of people have the e1705. Look at their forums nad how much people are viewing them. So i wouldn't say "gamers," don't buy from dell. Why alot of people buy from dell is their price and their coupons because you can get like a 2000 lapotp for 1250.

my last 2 dells..both desktops....turned out to be junk.....only after I spent another grand on them did they turn into a decent machine..far to many hardware failures for me..plus the fact that they are getting worse with the proprietory thing.........I dont trust the reviews on their machines anymore...I think their forum is loaded with shills, plus they are loading spyware and bloatware programs now...
check out this link ttp://www.michaelrighi.com/2005/07/21/dell-spyware-my-way/

As far as Dell forums with alot of people on them...I would expect that..they are the largest builders of PC's..but when you read their own forums you will see many people are leaving them...people like me who done business with them for almost 10 years......

If you are only purchasing for gaming, their system might be worth looking at. However, I always look for a desktop replacement as my main powerhouse machine and that means more than just a possible gaming performance increase to me. I want 2 hard drives installed since 100GB will not cut it (I want 7200rpm, not 5400rpm), 2 optical drives, internal TV Tuner, numeric keypad, etc. These are all items that are fully integrated in the Aviator EX7/FX7 notebooks which many notebooks may not have. It also adds weight but that is fine with me.

That is why each person makes their own decision and bashing another notebook and purchase is really a futile task since everyone's needs and WANTS are different.

2 drive conf. with Raid options is the one thing I demand on both Laptops and Desktops...I also look for desktop replacements....I still need and use a desktop but if I am gonna get a laptop I want the screen to be as big as it can be,,,17" is perfect...I have seen a few 19" laptops...thats a little big for me...I dont mind the extra few pounds...I use it mainly in hotel rooms when we travel or when its cool out I will sit out on our deck overlooking the valley below ...man life up here is great. .I was raised in a large City outside DC area (alexandria, virginia) but have lived all over the country and this small mountain community is the best place I ever been..and its only 125 miles north of Atlanta...so I am not too far from a major city...I thank God that I was able to buy a home and find a job here ..Been here for 14 years and I will be burried here....

also even on Dells XPS System Desktops they only have a place for 3 hard drives..thats a big draw back.....today I would say a Desktop should be able to incorperate a miimum of 4 hard drives....and some of the newer MOBO's can support 6 or more...so it seems like a waste to only be able to install 3 drives in a case

Congrats on the order. I am sure you are going to like that system. My system was quite awesome in gaming and everything I ran on it and the newer models that everyone is getting just seems to be getting better. So definitely nice.

Not to steer you or anyone else from Hypersonic, but I do want to correct an issue you raised at the beginning of your post. There are those who have posted negative experiences with their systems as well as those who have had excellent experiences. Unless another moderator is deleting (which I have faith it is not happening), they are out there - you just have to read through the messages.

The only time that I will delete a thread or post is if it becomes bashing of a company or individual. It doesn't matter what company or individual - take it elsewhere because it will be deleted here. However, one can post about a negative experience without bashing - and that is what is encouraged.

That said - again, welcome.
