I have an HP pavilion zd8000 and I am having major issues with all sound output

When starting up the computer and logging in it starts the sound but it is really stuttery and scrathcy throughout all playback

All music is stuttery and scratchy and I cannot play anything through the speakers

When plugging in Headphones I also have the same problem (really scratchy/stuttery/slow)

I have reinstalled all up to date drivers and even rolled back to fatory default

The computer did not come like this but just started and I do not know what to do......plz help

( )(Realtek AC97 Audio)

Did you try to reinstall the DirectX 9.0C??? Try that one. Also try to set the Hardware Acceleration to default respectively none. Do not panic, AC97 is decent card, definitely better then the SoundMAX on my nx9420 (the only drawback of such a great laptop!!)
