Help with LCD backlight flicker =o( !!!!!!!

Thread Starter
hi, i just made a fix to correct LCD backlight flicker in mi notebook Emachines M-6811, as posted in
http://emachines.fizi.ca/guides.php?ID=2 (Disassembly of LCD Frame)
http://emachines.fizi.ca/guides.php?ID=4 (Correcting LCD Backlight Flicker)
i checked everything after finish and looked fine but the display didn't turn on since then.
if i connect the notebook to a external monitor everything works fine.
The cables and the connections seems ok, but i wonder if i´ve a problem with the inverter. At open sight there is no way to say if
something is wrong, is there a way to check with multimeter or electronic tester where is the problem?

if it worked before (besides the flickering) - i would try to repeat the steps one more time to see what was "missing". Kaido's "fixed my flicker" thread has some good close up pics that u might want to cross check ur work.

cheers ...

yes to fix it, we all need to file a massive law suit against gateway and put there ass out of buisness.. i am so sick of this generic warrenty giving company... anyone reading this should never buy another gateway EVER EVER!!!

I FORGOT TO ASK IS EVER CLEAR ENOUGH?
and of course there is going to be some [not so nice person ] come to this thread and say well ya know its company standard, deal with it... is it also company standard to send out junk laptops and for them to have your laptop more than the owner throughout the warrnty? so dont come here and try to hijack this thread with your lame crap!!

If Gateway had used a little touch of Glue on the cable going into the inverter, they wouldnt have any of these screen flicker issues.

It's not glue they needed. The pins on the connector are the wrong size.
