When will a 15" Widescreen Inspiron XPS come out?

Anybody got news on that? If no 15" is planned, how about a 14"?

I know that the M1210 is coming out very soon, but it may be a bit too small for me. M1710 is too big (I currently own a 17" XPS Gen 2 and dislike it for the same reason -- in addition to poor battery performance)

Thanks.

That would be awesome if they made an XPS system based off of the e1505 chassis. However, I really have a hard time seeing dell do that :P

How sturdy is the e1505 chassis anyway? I have seen sooo many Dells where the LCD comes off its hinges over time. The XPS Gen 2's chassis that I currently own has a very, very solid feel to it.

Sorry, I really cant say, this is my first Dell. Not to mention first laptop. Heh...

I'm sure someone around here would know that though...

A 15 inch XPS would be really nice. The XPS M1210 looks nice but I think the screen might be too small to do anything.

A lot of people invested in a D810 or M70 to get some rockin 15 inch WUXGA gamin going and those 2 notebooks are by far the most powerful for 15 inchers however.. bother are discontinued so good luck finding one.

Exactly, Machina It'll be a while until they release a 15" XPS or a 14" XPS. It's a good reason for me to wait a little longer and to continue using the 17" XPS Gen 2 instead .... if only it weren't for the random Blue Screen crashes I have had with this laptop for the past year since Day 1. Now, before anyone (thank you) offers their advice, I have already done multiple fresh re-installs and even a Dell Restore, but same problem persists. It occurred even more with the A04 BIOS (A05 somewhat fixed the frequency). This leads me to believe that it's a physical issue or a BIOS issue. The only thing stopping me from contacting Dell to have it fixed is that I depend on my laptop to do work and that the problem is not immediately reproduceable (though it occurs often.)

In any case, stuoke: another concern with the XPS 12" is that the keyboard may be ergonomically too small

D810 not so great for games with a X600. M70 is another matter. Very nice. Extra grunt in the gpu worth the extra 20% $.

15" xps will cut into their XPS 1710 sales by 30-50% id guesss.

so i highly doubt it.

If Dell would be using the ATI X1600 vs the cheap crap X1400 the E1505 would be a sweet rocking gaming laptop which would see 4000+ 3DMark Scores very easily. I wonder why they don't offer it with the optional X1600?
The X1400 is very entry level and lacks the pipelines of the X1600

Indy: perhaps it's because Dell wants to ensure that the XPS laptops remain their top-of-the-line gaming ones...

asa-xps: *shrug* What's the URL to that site?

i think an x1600 would be a terrific option for the E1505, and would be entirely doable. it would make the computer a direct competitor to the 15" macbook pro and still not make too much horsepower for gaming, but just enough, thereby leaving a market for the E1705/9400/M1710
