emachine m2352 power issue

Thread Starter
hi guys i thought i would post to see if anyone can help me with my power issues. how do i go about fixing this. i dont haave the flicker issue but the power issue seems to get worse. sometimes the power light goes out and the ac power seems to go out and then the battery starts needing charges. but here is the kicker. when i hold the cord in tight against the side and back of the place where the cord goes into back of laptop all is fine. the cord light indicator stays on and runs perfect. but this is only if i push and hold the cord in tight and to the side. i know this has got to be a ac solder problem that is discussed in the forum under the flickering problem. i just dont know where the power solder is suppose to be can someone help me out with this. thakns

have an electrician looked into your power connector inside the laptop. Most of the time, with pushing in and pulling/jerking out, the connector got "cracked" away inside. depending on how bad it is, one might have to replace the connector end - laptop side that is. It is part of the mobo, so u have to pretty much take it all apart.

you have the built in obsolescense of a crummy weak solder job on a cheap laptop. You need a new jack, and to have someone pull the whole thing apart and re-solder on the jack. I have seen MANY of these on just about every laptop out there. Cheap laptops are designed to have this fail. Seriously. You can expect to pay about $100.00 on up to have someone fix this and warranty the repair. I do MANY of these repairs locally in Denver.

I just got the same problem. Would like someone to help me disassemble the box to get to the wiring.
