Sound on XPS M1710

Well, after months of waiting, researching/ect., I finally get to order my new notebook. That being said, i'm confused about the sound on the XPS M1710. If I spring for the upgrade to "Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy® ADVANCED HD Audio" does it then support eax surround in games, and dolby digital in movies? There is an adaptor pack to go to a spdif out, which would then connect to my Logitech Z-5450 speakers, will that work?

I apologize if this has been posted previous, but I was unable to find it.

Actually Jakes(242) is incorrect, there is an adapter to goto SPDIF and you do get EAX 3.0 and EAX Advanced HD compatibility with the M1710. However, with out using the SPDIF out, you will only get 2.1 or headphone support from the Audigy via the notebook, there is no 5.1 output. That being said, the sound is phenominal with a good set of headphones (and that makes this laptop the perfect weapon for LAN's).

actaully, you are incorrect about the 2.1/5.1. You do get 5.1 when watching movies. I know this because I've done it with my m90 which shares the same MB and soundcard when using the s/pdif adapter edit, you do have to tell your dvd playback software to only use the s/pdif for it's primary output and not use the internal speakers at all.
