help picking a laptop!

Thread Starter
I was almost set on the Asus S96J/Z96J, but I haven't been able to find a 15.4in laptop with a 1680x1050 display to sample so I don't know what screen size I'd pick

I fell in love with the design and build of Asus' laptops and know it will definitely be a head turner at my Dell-ified school

If I choose a Dell or Sony then I can buy it faster because I will be able to finance it, but i really hate the look of any Dell and nothing at Sony has really popped out at me.

I'd like my laptop to be 15.4 inches, because of mobility. This is my first laptop, and I'm afraid of how inconvenient a 17in laptop might be.

I'm open to any 15.4 or 17' laptop suggestions! My biggest requirements are duo core and a nvidia 7800 (or better) or the ATI's equivalent of the 7800

Tough choice, go with your gut.

Can you wait a month or two? If you can you should. Turions x2 are coming out, you'll see price drops and a lot of new notebooks coming out very soon...

If you can't wait I suggest the Asus W3J, 14" with a X1600 = portability and power
