Dell 6400/1505 a good desktop replacement?

I'm currently sitting on a desktop PC with AMD 2.2 ghz, 2 GB OCZ ram and a raptor disk + 7800GT GPU. I'm sick and tired of having the computer taking up all the space in my room, especially since I doo not game much anymore. My normal tasks on a PC is surfing, office and some webdesign. I really like it when things happen fast and I hate sitting and waiting by the PC.

I have been looking at the notebook market and the Dell 6400 looks like a real winner to me. I think I will go for something like this:

1.83 ghz
1 gb ram
x1400
best screen
dvd-rw
9 cell battery
80 gb harddrive

Do you think this PC will suit my needs and will it function properly in games like CIV IV and such? And will I be "Vista-ready" when it ships?

Yep that with function properly in games. And it looks to me that you are "Vista-ready".

Have someone with that setup and goto game advisor and see if it works with the games you want to play.

Hmm, sound ok. However, does anyone know of any good videoclips of the 1505/6400 in action? Or pictures that are not of the studio kind. E.g. a picture of a computer on a desk that makes it easy to see what the size and looks are like compared to other notebooks.

heres my point of view.

i have a dell xps 400 mce pc, my sister's dell e1505 dual core laptop and my own ferrari 4005 laptop and also lol my lol so-outdated gaming pc (p4 3.0/9700pro/512mb etc..)

i say for your needs. e1505 is perfect! i loved using the dell laptop but too bad my its for my sister haha.

if you want the best of both worlds i sugg you look at ferrari 4005 series laptops. has a nice gaming chip, 1gig/ 100gb/ 64bit amd turion cpu/ widescreen/ bluetooth/wifi/ 5.1 audio all 1.2in thin and 6lb. and all standard.

replaced my desktops for all my needs.

my sis e1505 has a 128mb x1300 ati card, i got battlefield2, i'll see how it runs on that thing tomm and let you know. havent tried any gaming on her laptop yet
