Well, went just went to www.apple.com/store. Check it out -- generic page stating they are updating their page & should be back within an hour. Also has the number to the telesales depts. Could this be the sought-after Macbooks? HHHHHmmmmmm........Or perhaps it's nothing (you can never tell w/ Apple).

The bottom level price is just right. But 1499 for the black version(WITHOUT dedicated GPU)? How much more are people going to pay for another 20gb and a black case? I was hoping they would lower the $$$ of the MBP as well to help have a smoother product line. I might have bought one, now, probably not. Just too much money.

Intel GMA950.... booo

Still as secondary..a mac introduction and linux practice might not be so bad...

For basically a metal case and a graphics card, that is a huge price disparity between macbook and macbookpro. Like....making me sick the premium the MBP is getting.

EDIT: I guess what i'm saying is that Sans the graphics card issue, that is ONE HELL of a nice notebook for $1100 (macbook)

EDIT: God, i'm retarded. I misspelled meTal. Ugh.

yeah I agree, but maybe its cause im all happy its out. (i feel like a kid in a toy store lol)

So..

Heat issue?
Benchmarks?

I cant wait till someone gets one of these and guts it.

Yeah, I was disappointed to not see dedicated graphics card of some sort. But, given the size of the thing, perhaps it wasn't do-able.....I'm sticking w/ my MBP. It will become a nice replacement for the ever-growing pile of crap on my desk.

This is probably the least important thing for many of you guys, but if it can play WoW at a decent clip in OSX, I am sold on the new 13" macbooks.

If not.... I got some thinking to do if I wanna get into a mac. I might just wind up getting a 2nd hand ibook 12" if it won't. I am just trying to justify getting a new laptop and then giving my old one to my wife, but if I have to keep swapping between the 2 laptops, what is the point?

*crossing fingers for some good benchmarking*

Also, another question to add on to this:

Would it bet better to get the small HD and then buy a 7200rpm that fits in there (with larger disk space of course). Maybe this isn't the right thread for that ;-)

I would think it would be able to run WOW I played WoW on my old HP laptop with a S3 Twister K 32mb shared.

You could always boot into XP on the Macbook, I'm pretty sure the FPS is much better in XP than in Mac OS X

check the tech sites for some reviews of the intel 950 chipsets, they've been around for a bit.

Any particular site recommended? I don't really frequent any, so I am not too sure where to start.
