E1405/640m Questions/Concerns

Just received my 640m and i noticed somehing weird: Dell advertises it as coming with Intel Integrated 950, yet through my Device Manager, it shows up as Intel 945GM?

Anybody else have the same problem? Other than that, everything seems decent, except i need to format this crap... If you get an Inspiron you'll know what i mean, it takes about 10minutes to actually start using the damn thing because of all the crap on there.

945GM is the chipset. gma950 is the GC. You an research it at the Intel Website to understand it.

I was scared that i'd hate it after using a T40 and D610 because of the posts on here, but i was pleasantly surprised. I do see what some people mean about the AUO having backlight bleeding, but mine is still honestly better than my T40's screen. The WXGA+ resolution is the perfect size, HDD turns out to be SATA and the rest of hardware speaks for itself. I wish they would've updated the white trim around it, but as with everything i buy, i care mainly about performance, which is why i can easily live with it, especially at that price.

The only thing is that i may have a stuck pixel right on the start menu. Hardly noticeable, but once i run benches to test it out, if it is stuck, it's going back becaue i'm a perfectionist.

EDIT: Screen is going back soon for sure. Stuck pixel in bottom left.
