Well best of luck to PCT. I am kinda glad yet worried about my purchase of a 5720 aboout 1 1/2 months ago. Hopefully nothing on my end goes wrong so I dont have to worry about it lol.

Look forward to see whats heading our way

so you dont have any excess lappy you wanna give away do you =)

Why did you start taking Preorders on the 5760 a week before you were closing down sales? Isn't that going to be just more of an annoyance for you now?

I guess that this is the end of a "nice ride"

In one word: Disappointed.

I guess that businesses, as well as people, just need to "move on". The central theme appears as if all of our efforts to help fellow Sager owners has generated a lot of "traffic" to their web sites. Now PCT has determined that it is more profitable to sit back and collect the advertising revenues rather than continue selling machines for very close profit margins. I know that my statement is an oversimplified and biased "read" on the situation; however, I can see their point. Retail sales, and the problems associated with same, can be a real pain. What I don't know at this time is if my time and efforts should continue to be of value to PCT. My current inclination is to "cut bait" and let things fall where they may and see what happens to this "Third Generation of PCT".

All in all, I say - Good luck to the Staff of PCT and thank them for their assistance in the past.

Sincerely,

Gary

actually its funny cuz I was thinking about the new AMD Turion X2's announced this morning, and was thinking I could buy a machine with one from you guys when Sager would release one conveniently at a time when I'd be able to afford it then right after thinking that, out of nowhere plage IM'd me with "you might find this interesting:" and a link to this thread all in all, is that a sign that i'll never be able to afford one?

Ahhhh, just as I was about a week away from ordering a Sager 9750!

Oh well, any idea who else I can order Sagers from, preferably a company that ships to Canada? DiscountLaptops.com? Order from Sager directly?

doh! i guess the rep points that i've been collecting since last year won't get me that huge discount i was hoping for

first post in a sager thread, and first post out of OT in a long long time

I guess that I have come to the conclusion that "cutting bait" is the option for me. It's been a nice ride; however - time, for me too, to move on..

Although it has been 18 months, and I am not sure what transpired in that time on here. You obviously know my thoughts regarding my principles and motivation. I will simply say that I am glad that I was back for this short time out of coincidence to wish you well.

May our paths cross sometime in the future. You have my respect and best wishes.

wow...just stunned. I, too, was beginning to consider a new laptop and would have preferred to buy one from a company that I've had a very positive experience with.

Hadn't been posting here nearly as much as I did (I participate in a couple of help forum and was losing track of threads), but regularly read others here. Great group of people, great company/reseller.

Will still be a regular reader, but now I need to go find a reseller.

Well don't I feel like an @ss.

Two friends were just admiring my 9880 and I refered them to the PCT site. They were telling me they couldn't configure nor order anything and I insisted they were just being morons and couldn't navigate a simple website. Guess I'm the moron for not confirming their story. You'll have to excuse me now while I check to see if my crow is finished cooking yet.....

[quote=G-Omaha] In one word: Disappointed.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I've enjoyed the ride. I enjoyed talking tech, being a PCT customer and I love the support they've given me over the last 2 years..

Here's wishing you guys well..

well,
in my opinion, G-Omaha was one of the better people giving out advise on these forums, you should offer him a moderator and tech advice position in order to keep him around(with....like, money). while i'm pretty much an ot whore, the bread and butter of this forum seems to be tech advise and software related knowledge and i am somewhat saddened that.......whoever you are now, you will no longer be selling computers.....something that lends authenticity to the place we like to hang out.

in a psychological sense, i think that people were drawn to NBF because it was associated with people who had "hands on" knowledge of the latest notebook technology on earth. although you may continue to prosper and evolve into something greater, i fear that the door has been opened and the cat let out.............i will still be here for the present, but i have a feeling that there is a sense of....wtf?.....here.

but, the world will move on...........good luck to you and your crew.

Thank you for the support, and I hope the new virtual products make a lot of virtual money. (zing!)

Trust me when I say that this shift means we will have our hands on MORE of the latest technology - and without an ties to any one brand. We will still be working very closely with Sager on new technologies and models. The fun has just begun.

And to Gary - I wish you wouldn't go, but if you have already made a choice, I can't stop you. You are such an important part of these boards. Give us a call at the office if we can convince you to stay. We are always happy to chat - especially with you - 800-346-6986.

Thank you to everyone for your support. NBF continues to grow everyday, but we will never forget the members that have gotten us here.

Well, the only place I would by a Sager from was PCT... Guess its between Dell and Toshiba now.

To the guys at PCT,

Thank you, you have given us a great place to come to and you were one of the few people I trusted to get a laptop from. Best of luck.

DANG ! ! !

just when i had finaly saved up all my pennies to buy the monster box of my dreams.

i turned to the people i learned to trust.
i logged on to place my order and found the cupboards bare,
and a "gone fishing" sign on the front door.

well rub a bulk erasure on my hard drive, it's hard for a newbie out there.

at least i can still turn to the great advice of your fantastic notebook fourm.

thank you for all you have done, and i trust that whatever you guys do, it will still be first rate.

Dear PCTorque guys,

your bestsellerchart disappeared from your homepage because of your decicion to go along a new path.
It would be very interesting for me, if you can post a Top10 list of your best selling Sager notebooks of the last years - if that is possible for you :-).

Thanks and good luck for your future.
