No more PCT Orders? - Page 3

where do we go now

It seems to me that a question many people are wondering is where to go now for all our Sager purchasing needs. Maybe Luke or Laura could add an opinion here, I was very happy with my PCT experience and was hoping to buy again from them in a few years when I needed, and could afford, to replace my 5680. You mentioned something earlier about Discountlaptops, is that place your number 1 recommendation? Just looking for some guidance, I feel like a lost puppy over here.

No ties to any one brand...does that mean some ties to some brands? My only worry is that a fairly unbiased site move towards a sporadically censored, highly sponsored site.

I can vouch for discountlaptops. Canadian credit card, shipped to Canada, great price, no problems.

Discountlaptops must be right now!

I would agree,,,,don't know how much they are doing in sales now, but in 2003 they did $4.5 million. I suspect they are about to make a significant increase.

I guess I am a little confused that if you are infact no longer addressing sales calls, why infact did PCT support refer me to the Sales phone number to have this issue with Warrantec addressed. From my perspective, it would logically seem as though they were linking me to a dead end. Is that in fact the proper channel that should be followed?

Again, I guess this transformation may infact partly explain what appears to be a lack of communication and the animosity I have towards PCT and their failure to respond.

I feel you personally have gone out of your way to try and address or simply defuse any issues I have had in the past, and they have always managed to find their way to you, but I will say that outside of what you personally have done, I could not speak kindly for anyone else I have dealt with at PCT.
Luke,
Thank you for promptly contacting me via PM, and addressing and further resolving this issue!!!

From reading through this thread and the message snippets posted on the PCT website, it appears PCT is moving towards becoming the next Cnet networks. Is this a correct assumption?
Let me re-phrase that to avoid confusion. Is PCT's new "Internet presence" going to be a parallel model to Cnet's reviews/tech news site?

Discountlaptops.com is actually the 2nd choice in my reseller to buy from for the Sager 5760 after my extensive reasearch to find where to buy my VERY 1st laptop. As it is my initial purchae from them, I will have to post in a month's time my full review about the 5760 and my experience with DiscountLaptops.com. But as a footnote: Notebookreview.com have stated this before: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=33900

However, I have no problem recommending them, because of all the satisfied customers they have over at NotebookForums. Remember, check RR - that way, you can know how the store really is. PN and DL are at the top of my list because they have a lot going for them.

It would be very interesting for me, if you can post a Top10 list of your best selling Sager notebooks of the last years - if that is possible for you :-).

Thanks and good luck for your future.

I second that one.

And best of luck with your new endeavor as well

There was a big thread here on Resellers Rating about 2 months ago where we had Matt from DL and others came in and Luke and the other NBF posters as well.

Its a moot point now that PCT is out of the selling business. I totally agree with Chaz and what he posted was the same reason why i ended up purchasing from PCT as versus others. Plus, its to was to support the PCT which at that time was running this forum as well...
