Anyone local want to do the pinmod for me? - Page 2

I just seen tonight that dell is now offering a 533MHz fsb processor for this lappy... Of course it's the "high" end B130...

This is not the case... Right now my modded cpu is running @ 533MHz FSB, but the memory (pc4200) is running @ 200MHz instead of the 233MHz it's capable of (as the BIOS states that 400MHz is not changable)... I think this maybe the limitation of this chipset...

915/910

Hi, I have a dell latitude d510 and I really wanna do a pinmod.
I'm not sure about my chipset, becouse the PCWIZARD 2006 shows that chipset is a 910GML, but the cpu-z shows that my chipset is a i915GMS/i910GML. Also shows that my ddr2 memory runs at 266mhz! I'm really confuse, but I really wanna give a bost to my pc. My processor is a Celeron M 1,4Ghz. I'm sure that if I could do this pinmod: http://www.overclockers.com/tips1204/
My pc would run games a lot smoother with 1,86Ghz!
Can anyone help me and tell if I can do or not this mod?
If my chipset is not the right one to do this mod, and if I try it anyway, can I damage my notebook? Or it's only will not work?
Please, if someone could asnwer these questions to me, I will be very thankful.
I will post pictures of my cpu-z.

Another thing, I read that on intel's site: "A common mobility board can be designed with the Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset and Mobile Intel® 910GML Express chipset to facilitate a scalable mobile platform." You can check that on: http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/910gml/

Does it means that my motherboard have both chipsets? i915/i910 like my cpu-z shows?

Ok! Thanks for everything, and sorry for my poor english!

Regards

Here is the link for my cpuz's pictures. Is a photoblog. Sorry for the bad resolution :

I would go ahead and give it a try... It seems that your chipset is the same as the B130/1300... Yes, you can damage the notebook if the mod is not done right (wrong pins crossed, too long pin, etc.), but that's a chance you take... If the mod IS done right and won't work the only thing that I have gathered that happens is that the lappy will not post...

overclocking latitude d510

Wow.. I have done the overclock in my Latitude D510, and it's seems to be working fine.
Now My Celeron M 1,4Ghz with a i915/i910 chipset has 1,86Ghz and 532Mhz FSB (according to CPU-Z).
Well, Sure that I have noticed that my note is very faster. But I also have noticed higher temps. In stand by the temps are the same as before, something like 45ºC. But with heavy programs, my note gets 67ºC (before OC was 61º). I'm monitoring all the time with CPUCooL. It can be dangerous? I have used the arctic silver 5. Maybe I should wait a little more before using heavy programs (like games) to give the termal paste time to become better. Anyone can give me a advice about that? Another question: After the OC, when I run task manager, my cpu usage is always in 100%, even in stand by without any programs open. Is this normal since the Overclock?
Ok. If anyone could help me about theese 3 doubts, I will really appreciate.

Thanks

latitude d510 overclocking

Hey, about the 100% cpu usage in task manager, it's already normal. I don't know what it was. Maybe was something about the cpuCooL. But about my others doubts I will really like if someone could help me

Yeah. I notice that. I have desabled all cpucool's features. I am still using it, but now the only thing it's doing is show me the temps. I'm very happy with my mod. I'm already seeing lower temps. Now, the higher temps seems to be about 64ºC/65ºC and only using very heavy games. In stand by the temps are lower then before (something about 42/43ºC). My latitude is very stable, and now, runing in 1,86Ghz Clock and 533Mhz FSB. The gain of speed is very noticeable. I'm playing Prince of persia the warrior within (I love this game) in 800x600 with medium special effects, and the game runs very smooth and beautiful, about 30/40 FPS. It was my first overclock, so, before doing it, I study a lot about how to do it. I use the best termal paste (arctic silver 5), and everythings seems to be fine. Dell's site helps a lot. There is a user guide the shows step by step how take your processor out. ___________________________ Dell Latitude D510 Celeron M 1,4Ghz@1,86Ghz 1,5GB RAM DDR2 533FSB Intel GMA 900 with 128 of memory 40GB HD Ultra Ata (5.400rpm)

So I will ask again, anyone up to doing this mod? Or even walking me through it on a B130 via PM or phone?
