Any solutions to the random wireless connection drops?

not really random for me. its every 10 minutes.
ive tried reinstalling the drivers, installing the hp drivers, and even
removing the device completely and then reinstalling. yet i still
get connection drops. ive read all the threads on this and tried
all the suggestions in them. if someone has anything new to
add then be my guest. having these connection drops is really
annoying for me. i may also add that besides drivers/hardware
dont think i didnt try the software solutions either. such as the
power save mode. sigh... hope someone can help. i dont want
to make a full system reinstall an option yet.

Are you sure it is the wireless in the computer and not possible the wireless router that you are connected too. Did this just recently start? Do you have other wireless networks in your area that maybe breaking the wireless connection? Where is your wireless router located and do you have any 2.4 Ghz phones or appliances located near the router?

I'm guessing/assuming that you are running several things on a similar frequency. Every 10 minutes?

Either get something that will broadcast a stronger signal, get a different frequency, or get plugged into a wall.

no 2.4 devices in this house. router is located downstairs.
signal is strong and no static or noise. my sisters laptop
is also on wireless and so is my desktop in my room.
yet there is no problems with those 2 systems.

over the grapevine (Credit to Chris Sanders):
"It is not uncommon for users to report their wireless clients dropping connection at random times. The cause of this is the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. This service, enabled by default in Windows XP Service Pack 2, is designed to optimize the use of wireless network technology by constantly scanning for other wireless networks. This process has been known to cause clients to randomly drop their wireless connection. The best method for alleviating this problem is to use third party software to manage your wireless connection. This software will almost always be provided with the driver for the wireless card you are using. Once you have this software installed you will want to disable the WZC service to prevent it from loading at startup."

cheers ...

To disable it: Go to "Start" >> "Run" Type Services.msc Press Enter Scroll down to "Windows Zero Configuration" Right Click >> "Properties" Look for "Startup Type" and select "Disable" Also press the "Stop" button a little further down. I have disabled it, and am noticing less drops, however I am unsure as to why my laptop is not running broadcomm's (WTRYSVC) automatically eventhough it is set to start up with it. Wierd I have a Excellent signal strenght, no noise and I am loosing speed to 1Mbps on a 54 G router right next to it Meanwhile all the other computers work great. I tried to disable the WZC and I lost my signal and could not get Broadcom to pick it up. I had to turn Wzc back on. Anyone have an answer for this. How to set up a m6805 properly. Thanks you for the help.
