I apologize for the questions as i am macintosh iliterate but:

Combo Drive - is this also a DVD burner?

Built-in Airport Extreme - Is this 802.11X compatible? (b/g)?

The combo drive means that it is a cd burner, dvd reader. I ordered it that way because I never had a use to burn dvd's.

The built in wireless is 802.11G, which according to the standard is backwards compatible to B.

Thanks!

I know...but nobody has bought it yet and there's most likely a reason for that. Depreciation on computers led apple products are as bad as cars these days. The minute you purchase it the value has dropped hundreds of dollars...

i've owned macs for 10 years, and can factually vouch the fact that macs depreciate less than any other computer brand on the planet. a powermac 9600, circa 1995, ebay's for $100-$300. it's a real pain in the a$$ too, buying even old macs is an expensive proposition for me. kind of like used honda's...

methinks think the reason that no one has yet bought her is due in no small part to the actual percentage of mac users at these forums....0.000000001%....

Hmm..I somewhat can see your point. I would think the only reason why the resale value wouldn't depreciate as fast would be because apple doesn't come out with models every other month like PC competitors do. However, it seems even rumors of a new apple product drop the resale values or macs. For example, my friend purchased a loaded G4 desktop setup and a month later rumors of an approaching G5 desktop release started arising. He immediately sold it in anticipation of dropping resale value and STILL lost hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a brand new fully loaded G4...I guess the reason why I'm not satisfied with the $1900 estimate is because I have visions of 17" powerbooks in the back of my mind..as well as G5 17" powerbooks eheh

i think the problem in him finding a buyer is that $1900 even though its a good price for what it comes with, you can buy a comprable 15" for around the same price, friend just bought a 15" 1.25 w/ applecare at a "UC" student store for $1999.

I know...obviously you want the highest return on investment from selling it...I'm just saying if it gets to that point I would be willing to purchase potentially...
It's good to know you're driving down the price for this poor guy so you can "potentially" purchase it...

I said potentially because it may not reach that price level...maybe somebody will buy it now...maybe at 1700..maybe at 1600..who knows...I'm not trying to be an My bid means nothing if the seller doesn't want to go that low....and nothing I'm doing is "driving the price down for this poor guy" because it's still at 1800...
