Well, it isn't actually dead. In fact, I'm posting this from my 8790 right now. It does have many many problems though...stick of bad memory taken out, messed up video card (I think the motherboard is damaged), and a non-functioning CD-RW drive. Warrantech won't cover any of the issues (even the normally covered issues) because there is structural damage to the computer's frame. We don't need to get into my Warrantech/Micromedics details (by the way, I'm never ever buying a Sager again), but I'm trying to salvage the computer so I don't end up having a 3,000 dollar doorstop. All I care about it getting the Radeon 9700 back in working order. If I'm not mistaken, the chip is part of the motherboard (correct?) and therefore I need to replace the motherboard completely...so what can I do? Where can I buy a motherboard for the Sager 8790 (or Clevo D87P as it is also known as)? Anyone have an old 8790 with a good working motherboard they can sell me? Please help...
