In addition, I was told that batches of orders (based on when) are going over to billing to be charged as the machines are being configured.

I can't tell if that means they are building/configuring at this point, or still waiting on the parts. Either way, I am supposed to receive an email as soon as it is fully billed (meaing in production).

When did you first placed your order? I wonder if AW is going to have any promotions during July 4th, so maybe we could still get something off m9700 (If still has not shipped of course).

ordered

I ordered on 5/17. I am debating switching from the ML-40 to ML-44, but worried it will set back my ship date. I may call and ask.

Meh. (Btw, it shows my order info in my sig, including when )

well, I made my call this morning. I now understand all of the frustration you guys are always talking about concerning AW's customer support... WOW was that frustrating...

my original prices was $3819 but same config was now coming in at $3740. It took me 10 minutes to explain I wanted my price adjusted to the first lady I talked to... She kept telling me that my delivery date was June 29th, but to be patient...

I finally had to interrupt her to get her to really listen to what I was saying... Then I got transferred and I had to explain that whole thing again. They guy acted like he had never heard of such a thing. He would have to check...

After 2 minutes, he said I could do it, but it would delay me 5 days, just to change the price, so whatever, I decided that I was also going to switch to MCE with the tuner and remote and get a respawn disc since I was already gonna be delayed. After a long time he finally said he could make the changes in price and configuration and that I would receive an e-mail confirming that changes...

Well, that was like 6 hours ago and I still haven't gotten an e-mail.

I hope I haven't messed myself up...

Ahh crap, I just check my status and I'm back to phase 1...

Did you call customer service or sales support?

I called sales and they were amazingly efficient, and I even changed to an ML-44 (from an ML-40) (after calling yesterday to get $125 price adjust in my favor) today.

It also didn't affect my ship date at all according to them (still officially in Phase 3).

It really sounds like their support is inconsistent, as based on my 3 calls (one to get the employee discount, one to get the price adjustment in my favor, and one to get the change in processor)... I've had nothing but glowingly positive things to say.

Weird.

Don't pay attention to that! It has happened to me before! If you go back and check again you will see your current status!

Serid, I called customer service first - they didn't know what was going on... Sales was a little better, but only a little. In the end, they did give me exactly what I wanted with out too much fuss.

Holysoldier - How in the heck did you know I would be back to phase 3??? I checked after I read your post and sure enough... Phase 3 again

That is insane...

Nah It happened to me before.. going back to phase 1. I was pissed, then I didnt believe it so I reloaded the page and was at phase 3. Just a little glitch in the site.

Live? Is it a... LIVE???

I checked the web configuraterererer for the m9700, and, it no longer showed "pre-order" nor does it mention $500 deposit when you begin to configure a system.

That just might be a good sign, boys and girls!

I think when there is a bad "ping" to wherever that data is stored, then you see Phase One as a default. I think that is the issue.

I cannot tell you the number of times when, if that page is loading slowly, I will see Phase One. If I refresh the page -- poof -- Phase Three.

Is one moved up to Phase Two after AW receives payment?
Phase one means you've ordered. Phase two means your order has been verified. Phase three means they've received payment and its been authorized. Four means they have the parts. Five means they're building.

I would hope that Dell with their mega money and power would at least step in and improve AW's ordering/tracking section of their website.

I realize that would probably require some changes in the physical world at the plant as well as software changes, but it would probably free up a lot of telephone reps if people could actually trust what was on the website as far as order status.

I have bought several dells and that is one thing they have down is order tracking...

While we are all waiting perhaps we should move this discussion to the AW phases section of this forum, since we are all in the phase game...

Is the sound card that comes with the Aurora m9700 pretty good for gaming?
Yes I should hope so. The Hothardware review said that they were impressed with the sound. The m9700 supports 5.1 surround sound so 2-4 speaker set up sould be no problem.

I plan on using the digital output to connect directly to my Klipsch 5.1 setup for home. Gaming on the road ... eh, already used to the poo-tastic speakers in my Sager 3790. Though I do have a 2.1 Klipsch set I can bring along for extended hotel living. Housecleaning must scratch their head when they see a full-on Mobile Command Post in a hotel room. (I really need a job where I am home more often than not. But, hey, I got frequent flyer and hotel points out the wazoo! Yeah, me!)

Aren't Klipsch systems analogue only?
Is there a built in Microphone in the 9700?
