Power req's of the 7900 GS vs. 7800 go

Now I know the 7900 GS is on the 90nm process which means it should require less power than the 110nm 7800, but they also raised the clock speeds on the 7900 GS, so in the end does it all cancel out?
Do they have the same TDP, or does one consume more power than the other?

The 7900GS will run at full speed with a 6-cell battery and the 90watt power supply. So, just that alone tells me that it does not have the same power requirments that the 7800 GTX has.

I had to get the 130 Watt Supply and the 9-Cell Battery in order to put the 7800GTX in my 9300.

I also just changed my i9400 order from the X1400 to the 7900GS and it never complained about the power requirments. It still has the standard 90 Watt supply, and 6-Cell battery. We will see when it comes.

Fine, but I was asking about the 7800go vs the 7900 GS....you know, like the two graphics cards available on the e1705....unlike the 7800gtx.

I believe they are the same.

7800 go is a 35watt card (work with 90watt ac and 6 or 9 cell batt)

7800 gtx is a 65 watt card (reqires a 130watt ac and 9 cell batt)

Yeah, 7800GTX is most definitely not the same as the 7900GS.

See here..

Says that the TDP is only 20 Watts...

Hopefully it will run cooler...

Need advice in the 7900GS vs 7800 debate.....

I have a big dilemma...i purchased a e1705 last week and got a 7800...in order for me to return it and get the 7900 GS i have to pay roughly $154 Dollars including shipping costs and reduce my Processor from a 1.83 to a 1.66...Any suggestions or thoughts...is it worht the money hassle and processor downgrade???

PS my 7800 OC's quite well...using coolbits it have my clocks at 346/847....

ALSO does the 35 ebay coupon stack with the current 750 off??? if so that would take it down to roughlyy 120 dollars...
