Gorgeous Beast Laptops

I'm looking for a good looking and high powered dual core laptop. At the moment I've basically settled on the Sony VAIO FE18GP. Does anyone have something to match or beat it? It's fair expensive at $2700 ish.

Dual Core 1.86
1Gb DDR2 533
100Gb Hdd
7400 GO nvidia graphics
2.7kg
15.4" WXGA with the cool glossy coating

...

My second question is relating to TV tuners. I wanna get a digital tv tuner for the PCMCIA card slot in a laptop. Is there a super sexy one with a huge aerial (does that help?) that doesnt cost too much?

thanks in advance.

The Asus s96j, Asus w3j, and Acer 8204 all leave the Sony in the dirt. The s96j costs a good bit less, too.

Asus W2J. It's cheaper, sexier and better.

$2700 is a hell of a lot for a 15.4" laptop.

ok well i'm taking a look at those ones now...

basically i want:

dual core 1.86 or more

1gig ram (can upgrade my self if need be)

100 gig hdd

decent graphics... preferably better than the 7400 GO, and preferably nvidia but dont really mind.

15.4" screen - no bigger, no smaller (or at least not much :P)

Unless you really like OS X there's no reason to buy one.

Where you from in Aussie? plus I'd go with the Asus' mentioned in like the third or fourth post. Asus are a good brand, reliable, well built and usually good bang for buck. They also seem to be skewing their notebooks more towards multimedia which is a good thing. So yeah, Asus for looks, price and performance all rolled into a 15.4" package.

Any reason for being anti-dell? Cause for that price you could get a decent 9400 with specs that would kill the Sony...but that's 17". Like the others said....the Sony costs way to much. They've got some nice suggestions you should go read up on those laptops in the respective forums to see what the users have to say about them. Asus apears to make real good stuff.
