OK, to me it looks like there are some huge differences between different E1505's. I'm using speedstep, currently with NHC running too (but not running NHC makes no difference in temps).
Even while under very light load, my temps keep reaching the upper 40's and even up to 50's.
What's really annoying is that while i'm connected to ac-power temps go even higher, which makes the fan kick in at about 55 (right now it was just at 56) and cool the little sucker down to about 39. Then the cycle begins again; heat builds up to over 50 and then the fan screams on again. Thing is it dosen't go about about this at the slowest and most quiet fan speed. Rather, it goes up to the third (and annoyingly noisy!) speed.
Now, this really sucks! Does anyone else experience this? The cycle only occurs when on ac power. You guys think it's a matter for dell's customer service? Or should I venture into warranty-breaking-land with my good ole'tube of Arctic Silver?
