Well, calling the spare parts department rather than technical support can net you the right part numbers. They don't even ask you for a service tag number. I've called them several times asking for price quotes on their serial ATA cables as well as other replacement parts. Spare parts doesn't have a direct number, but they're there in the menus. And if you get to tech support by mistake, just ask to be transferred to spare parts.

Canadian Spare parts requires a service tag to generate their quotes so they wont talk to you either if you can't verify the information on the tag. Try to go through a transfer of ownership with the old owner.

You say it's second hand, If it was sold by original owner or you know its legit, you can transfer warranty through their website, takes about a day to go into their system, I've done this to a couple of laptops I've purchased from original owners. take a look at the line below, that's all you need. Again, I would make sure about origin of laptop so you know everythings ok.
"Service Tags(s) to transfer
If you did not provide the previous owner information above, you must provide both the service tag and the express service code to transfer the ownership of requested systems."
