Rendering is smooth, and reliable, not crashing etc etc. I've already heard rumors of the newer GPU's in the works. I think it would be smartest to wait a few months and see what occurs. Ever since the 7800 seriues came out they been throwing out a new card every 2 months and nothing has been all that impressive to force me togo out and blow and $1,000 every other month.

I absolutely agree. The Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX has no problems with any games even at max settings on most. However, it is nice to know though in the back of my mind that this machine will support the upgrade if and when I decide to upgrade. However, I will definitely wait to see any news on the 512MB version before considering the current 256MB as stated previously.

Hypersonic now supports, ships, sells, ect. the "NVIDIA Quadro FX Go 2500 M 512M" video card for the FX7 & EX7.

I called sales and the purchase price is $580 USD.

A little searching didn't reveal to much in the way of reviews for this card yet, but for the most part in most reviews of the desktop PCI cards, the Quadro FX 1400 would outproduce the GForce 7800GTX in all sited benchmarks (Both with 256M memory). I would have to assume (bad on my part) that the Quadro FX Go 2500 would do the same, expecially since it has 512M memory.

It should be noted that the Quadro series is designed for the 3D power users working with such things as CAD. So the gaming performance may not be there. None of the reviews I could find in a quick 10 minute google and read stated much other than any Quadro (even the low-end FX 540) would either equal or outperform the 7800 GTX in standalone or SLI.

If I have the cash right now, I'd get it and review it for everyone. unfortunately, no cash, and wifey has control of credit card, not able to get it that way.

The Quadro FX Go 1400 performs slightly below the Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 DDR3. It is nowhere near as powerful as the GeForce Go 7800 GTX or even the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra for that matter. I would expect the new Quadro card to perform in consumer apps slightly below or in the range of the GeForce Go 7800 GTX.

Hypersonic now has the Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX PCI Express 512MB. I am having it put in my FX7.

It looks like the 512MB version of the GeForce Go 7900 GTX will work as well and will be released as user upgrades towards the end of July. For those who have an EX7 without the 6.1+ revision motherboard (most likely if purchased before the GeForce Go 7800 GTX was released), then a motherboard upgrade will be required as well just as it was needed to upgrade to the GeForce Go 7800 GTX.

At least this puts the speculation in this thread to rest.
