Anyone have thoughts on this notebook announced today? http://www.gateway.com/programs/ultr.../ultraportable
would like to know what the chassis (materials...aluminum/magnesium/carbon fiber/plastic) is built around/from and whether anyone has touched one of these guys.

I don't know anyone on the inside of Gateway and they don't have any stores anymore. They seem to introducing new products that are getting competitive, but no one has them to exhibit or review.

imho, a 2nd hand sony s360 would beat that machine handily - in price and in performance, should one stay with intel.

amd turion based ultra portable is making quite a headway (hp & co & bla bla) - gateway might have a tough time pushing this machine

msi offers prefab machines as well as barebone ones for u to tinkle with - wish more companies going this route (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2821)
