Seeing you all reporting about heat issues with MBP, which is worst than MacBook, I can't imagine myself buying one to be honest.
MacBook heat issue is just a tad beyond my liking. I actually had a small blister touching it during my OS reinstallation (without a coolpad). I kept it because running with battery is not that bad.
Personally, I can't see dramatic heat reduction from simply applying even the best thermal material. I honestly think that they are having big problem designing the best way to passively cooling off the system at that particular spot (top left underneath laptop).
Throughout my intensive use of MacBook recently, I hardly hear cooling fan kicks in either or not at all. I am hoping to see they resolve the system with actual better cooling design within the unit.
In the meantime, my coolpad is working great bringinig down temp to around minumum of 5C lower than normal depending on surrounding temp.
Good luck with you decision Shazza
