?

actually sound works...only prob is wireless if you have a intel card...Iam using PEAK right now and can hear like a champ.

How did u get sound to work? Can you post the kext file u used?

Or do you mean you're using an external USB sound device?

As far as everyone at OSx86project knows there is no known fix for the Sigmatel 9200 HD audio.

...

Its not external sound usb device or sound card - the sound comes from the built in sound card from my dell e1505 - now i never upgraded the sound card when i purchased the dell, What it wont work with is the soundblaster card you can upgrade from dell. Iam listening the itunes as we speak. I partitioned 30gb for osx and Iam loving it so far, Photoshop runs so smooth.....

MY friend installed it, and gave me the dvd, I will ask him the question you asked, I know he went else where for updated drivers and such....But everything works!!!! except wireless because I have the intell wireless card, IT WILL WORK with the dell wireless card.

the "sound blaster card" isn't a card at all, it's a driver, or at least a driver extension. it's the same sigmatel chip in all E1505/6400 laptops.

What ever the ****, It works with the stock card/driver that came with my notebook.

What does it say when you go to:

System Preferences->Sound->Output

What audio devices are listed? Also, what version of OS X are you using? 10.4.6? You can find out through the About this Mac info on the upper left.

I know the guy went to other sites for drivers for sound and video. I have the ATI 1300, and was only botting with one resolution, He installed a driver and presto, He has a 9300 with the nvidia 256 and his worked great also.

Doggy? did you installed this and had limitations??? what probs did you encounter?

Hmm, this friend of yours seems to be a real magician...or at least have access to some really heavy stuff that we don't. Back at osx86project forums we've been struggling to get these things working for months, and he just installs a driver!? PLEASE make him give you the links for these files, or maybe you could upload them somewhere yourself?

Cheers!

Lots of art schools use programs that only run on macs.

Sure does! I'm dual booting with my E1505, as are many others. To be on the safe side though (regarding mac compatability), I'd recommend you to stay with the Intel GMA950 graphics card and definitely go for the Dell 1390 WLAN solution. Those work out of the box.

Yes, I have OSX up and running and can install any software. But I don't have any sound. And cause I have the ati x1400, I'm stuck at 1024x768 resolution without video acceleration. Also, I'm using an usb wlan stick cause my internal intel 3945 doesn't work with osx.

But I understand your friend has a fix for both the graphics and the sound? Please tell us how he did it or where he got them from...

yes it does, if you don't mind lack of onboard sound... and video problems, depending which chipset you ordered.

Thanks.. Yeah. I have no native audio support. Otherwise, it works well. The audio is what hundreds of people have been trying to get to work so if you or your friend got it working, that would be a huge benefit for the OSx86 community! Thanks.

My config has the regular GMA950 which is supported natively and the Dell 1390 wireless also supported.
