After some time has passed and an upgrade i'm pretty happy with it. Besides it breaking after 6 days, and being at Acer for 16 days, and them scratching my lid and keeping all my original packaging....
The T2300 was to slow for me. Upgrading to the T2600 was a good move for me considering the price i got it for. It's only a stopgap until Merom hits mainstream. The DVD burner is slow, but then again, it IS a laptop. Slot load is awsome. Video is what i expected, i can't complain about that since i knew what i was getting. The whole FAT32 thing is a moot point for me, i wiped it clean and reinstalled immediatly. Not even a need to backup the original OS, it's complete trash.
I don't care for the audio or USB locations. I would prefer them in the back, with some USB ports on the left hand side. Heat blowing out the right hand side? I mean, who came up with this (must have been someone left handed
). Speakers suck, but what laptop speakers don't? I could fry eggs on the touchpad. It's almost worthless, plus i hate the grey push button. My emachines had a slider on the right of the pad, was so much more convienent. Webcam is pretty worthless. Only thing it's been good for so far is taking some paint off the base. Apperantly it doesn't rotate while it's closed, and i picked it up in the middle and with my palm it rotated and took a nice chunk of paint out. Personally i would trade the cam for the paint back
Then we come to the real issue, HEAT. We all know this thing runs hot. What i don't understand though, is how come the Dell's that are spec'ed similiar run in the 30C range and don't burn you to touch? This is definetly an issue, and i just hope that later down the road, all this heat doesn't cause parts to fail.
So overall, i guess i'm "happy" with it based solely on its performance. There are a lot of things that could be better
