What are your temperatures reading?

Im a bit worried about mine...They seem high, running a few apps and no games, here are my temps, with speedfan having all my fans blow at 100% and my CPU is running at 2ghz.

CPU: 47
Local: 60
GPU: 80
HD: 50

The GPU is worrying me, 80 seems hight with the fan roaring at 100% and there is no dust on them and no games are being played or anything needing my GPU realy that much.

Well My Speedfan settings are as follows:

Speed01 (CPU Fan) Min: 30%, Max: 45%
Speed02 (GPU Fan) Min: 28%, Max: 55%

CPU Temp Desired: 60C, Warning: 75C
Remote 2 (GPU) Temp Desired: 85C, Warning: 95C

With these settings my CPU idles around 47 (on 800mhz) and around 60 on 2ghz.
My GPU idles at 50 when on powerplay (105x120) and around 80 when OC to 365x365.

With my speedfan settings the fans don't annoy me at all (the CPU fan is usually around 500RPM and the GPU fan is at 1800RPM).

Hope this helps,

Andrew

Alright this was a lot of help, thanks...Now one more thing, how do you change from powerplay and so on? Like if i want my CPU to run at 8OOMhz and not 2Ghz?

My temps have been up a bit recently too. After trying to figure out a cause I remembered, its getting pretty warm outside and thats the likely cause.

Make sure the computer is on a perfectly flat surface. If the fan intakes are at all obstructed, your temperatures will be high. If you can, prop up the back of the computer, that helps a bunch.

You shouldnt be at 82. Try opening up your computer and taking a can of air to it to get dust out. Then try taking off the heat sinks and re-applying the thermal solution. See what happens after that. If the problem continues, maybe its time to contact your reseller.

Did a bit of testing with my Z70Va yesterday. With the notebook idling, Powerplay turned off with the video card running at the stock clocks of 344/330 (last BIOS update changed the default GPU clocks from the original 351/297) these were the GPU temps Speedfan reported:

68C with GPU fan at 100%
80C with GPU fan slowed down to 38% (~2000rpm).

My CPU was only running at 800MHz but the CPU fan was off with a CPU temp in the high 40s.

Sounds like your GPU heatsink isn't making good contact. You'll have to contact your reseller to see about sending it to them to check it out, unless they don't mind you taking the whole notebook apart to get to the GPU heatsink.
