9860 Toshiba SD-R6472 DVD Trouble

Hello all,

The Toshiba SD-R6472 DVD on my 9860 is !!!!!

I've been using Nero to burn discs and lately all it does is make blanks. I upgraded the Firmware from version TU50 to TU51 and it makes no difference. I don't get any errors when burning or after burning and it says it finishes perfectly.

The last 4 gb disc I burned took about 10 minutes and then when inserted contained no data, the disc doesnt even register.

Anyone have any idea of what could be going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My ASPI drivers all check out too.

What Kind of Media are you using on that drive? I have a desktop PC with a Toshiba burner and I had to flash it with a Samsung Firmware to get it to burn on my Imation and TDK 8x DVD+R's. I also cant write on 16X media at all on it.

Also with my Toshiba in My sager 9890 same driver that was in my 9860 (had to replace board) It burned a DVD recently on 16X media. A backup of my along came polly disc. When I went to play it it locks up alot and asks for parental code but plays fine in the home DVD player.

Just wonderin if your issue is media related most my DVD +R issues are

Yeah, I've come to that conclusion as well. I can't burn on certain medias, oh well
