Quiet DVD playback

When I try to play a DVD through PowerDVD, I get no audio. Volume is on max, and not muted, I have reinstalled the software.

I don't think it is a software issue because when I play the same DVD using Windows Media Player, the audio is very quiet. Its loud enough to amplify if I have everything hooked up to external speakers, butIhave to crank the volume abnormally high. When driving in a car, I can't watch a DVD because it is so quiet, but I can listen to MP3s in Winamp just fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Driving in a car and watching DVD is not safe. Check volume setting (manually) before and after PowerDVD is launched to see if that is the problem. Volume control and Wave are the significant things to look at.

Under your sound properties check that your wave balance is not either very low or muted.

all of those values are maxed out

I was in the back seat of the car, not driving =D

MP3s play loud just as everything else that makes audio... except DVDs
