That's great to know. I've been looking at a sager 5660 for a few months now and linux was a major concern of mine. I don't know it extremely well but it's good to know someone who does has gotten everything to work.

i'm jealous.

Too bad linux doesn't let you do much with Firewire (aside from external CD/CDRW drives). When the kernel (or modules) support external hard drives, then I'll be happy!

wiFi

dirtboy,

I will actually make mine work tomorrow, so i will post all relevant information. Is your pcmcia/and cardbus already recognised ?

Try using 'cardmgr' as user in a terminal / console. It has a nice GUI that display the info of the pcmcia port. be posting tomorrow

No, only the kernel drivers seemed to work, but you don't get many tools. I have a beta copy of the pcmcia-cs drivers the developers want me test on the TI 1250 Cardbus controller. Seems pcmcia-cs wasn't recognizing it correctly, and never let me change any of the settings on the card, like the access point. I tried Mandrake, but I hate it. I'm in the process of setting up Gentoo again. I'll let you know how it goes.

Oh, I can't wait to get mine back from the screen upgrade... I'm looking forward to setting up dual boot w/ RH8.0
