RCA A/V Problems

I have sager 8890 with an AverTV tuner card. I have a video camera with an RCA A/V output. The actual input to the card is RCA but I have an RCA to coaxial connecter thing adapter. I can plug in the cable and it works fine, but when I take the adapter out and plug in the rca cable from the camera it doesn't work. I thought the camera would just be on channel 3, but it isn't.

Does anyone have any ideas? I tried converting it to SVideo and it was in black and white (it was in color when I hooked it up to the TV).

Hi there, if I were to venture into guessville, I would say that the composite looking input on the TV Tuner card is to keep it small and flush to the computer unit when the coax adapter is not in use (as opposed to something that sticks out and damages tight computer bags when transported or a large adapter that takes up more space and the room needed for coax). According to the docs, that is an antenna input only which would translate to me it has no composite abilities at all, but that is just me I do know I also tried a composite cable on it and it did not work. The reason I am responding is that I had a similar adventure with a Svideo adapter. It would work with one device and not another. It would be black and white on the Sager but color on the TV so I though my Sager might have been busted. I simply went to Radio Shack (or anywhere you can return something) and bought another Svideo cable and all was fine. Don’t know why, don’t get it, but it worked and have had no problems with it for the 2 ½ years I have owned it. Give a new cable a try from a place you can return items if it does not work, you have nothing but a little time wasted to loose. Good luck to you! Take Care, Andy
