Hee hee :)By the way - I played BF1942 with graphics jacked all the way up in the game options. I had default settings in the ATI control panel as well.
To improve multiplayer framerates I turned off Live-Update and Norton Antivirus, Norton firewall and windows update. I closed all messenger programs and shut down my roommates connection from the hub
The only thing I fiddled with was the sounds option - reduced the number of voices and decreased audio quality. I also turned off the "Wait for vertical sync" in the ATI control panel.
I have BF1942 on drive D which I dedicated to the game. I defrag this drive every day and run a reg clean - then I restart and ONLY then do I play the game I am paranoid yes but I wanted to see how far I could stretch the game before fps became too low for comfortable game play.
FPS suffered under my set conditions whenever I was too close to multiple moving objects and AI but even then only for a few frames - this happened twice but didnt happen at other times under similar conditions.
I am looking to set up a game for Sagerforums members and request all those with this game and the time to play to come forward with a suitable date and time. I am assuming that this being "spring break" everyone will have a few hours to spare for games - it will also provide a break for those who live on the forums lol
