im betting its just the R360 clocked down for the mobile market cause the RV360 (radeon 9600xt) isnt cutting it for tommorows games

No, I meant to say that the M12 will probably be available at the end of the year. However, it could also possibly be available sometime after the R420 is launched. That would be spring or summer, depending on how late into spring the R420 is released.

The successor, R420, has been announced on various websites including Anandtech. It hasn't been commercially christened yet, but it's certainly due for release very soon.

May I point you to a post I made in the Sager General forum, which contains links to sources that indicate that the M12 will be based on the R420:
