Hi all,

I am new here and wish to find information on how to fix my screen problem on my Compaq Presaio 1700 US.

My problem is the LCD screen would flicker, turn white and fade away occasionally while using the laptop. I found that I could press the top of the screen hard and the problem would go away, but eventually it will come back again and again.

I also notice that it happens only when I am using the laptop. It would stay good if I just let the laptop sit without touching it after it boots up...

I have tried uninstall and reinstall the Display Adaptor twice. I found that help a bit, it does not turn white as often as before. Perhaps it is the LCD sreen, the display adaptor or the LCD inverter???

Does anyone have a solution for it? I want to know what parts I shall replace to rid the problem. Kindly help!
