Who gives a rats ass. This is for those who like living on the edge. Not those who like to play it safe.

Would the negative folks please keep your unmotivating comments to yourself.

Anyone ever thing about the implications if you decide to sell a laptop that was modified? Its resale price plumets. Even if it has a high end card in it.

Yeah, soldering and mutilating my XPS2 doesn't hold me back one damn bit... Bios woes do!

Soldering is a hobby of mine O.o. I'm sure most of the people paying close attention to this thread have at least a base knowledge of how to desolder.

I wouldnt describe soldering as a hobby but its not exactly a challenge

just think, if no one ever did this then who would have known that a 9300 could have a 7800 gtx?

Good trail blazing Corn. Oh and youre stripping the hell out of your screws. Its time to look for replacements.

I take offense to that remark lol...

Any news on the bios hack yet? I think that's the only thing holding back this mod from working.

I called dell spare parts today and the rep told me the 7900 gtx was about $5xx. I can't remember the exact price.

I looked at some benchmarks at http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1950389,00.asp comparing the 7800 gtx and 79000 gtx. On the Fear and COD2 benchmarks, the 7900 gtx didn't really seem to impress me very bunch. Going from a 6800 go or gtx to the 7900 gtx would be worth the money, but how many think going from 7800 gtx to 7900 gtx is really worth it? I'm just hoping the next card w/ directx 10 can be moded to fit our laptops.
