I see Hypersonic is now offering the 7900 card on the EX7.....I went and configured the same system I am waiting on ...I swapped the 7800 with the 7900 and the machine sells for a little over $100 bucks less than what I paid for with the 7800......so when now when I configure the exact same system ......It sells for a little over $200 bucks less than what I paid for the same system...dont yall just hate when that happens...if my machine dont ship tommorrow I may see if I cant change the 7800 out with a 7900...I dont care about the price being lower......I am gonna do a little research on the performance between the 7800 and the 7900.....does anyone have an experience using those 2 cards....I have the 7800 GTX in my desktop...swapped it out from a 6800 GT and saw a big improvement...but that could be because the 6800gt was from Dell and they got ahold of bad cards..they only offered the 6800gt for 7 weeks,,,seems they sold it prior to testing it and after complaints and testing they pulled it......I learned this after I bought my 7800gtx-oc BFG card......I know one of the people on the XPS Systems development team and he informed me of this and said he would get dell to give me a 7800 but I told him I already bought one and am happy with it...he did send me a 3.6 cpu to replace the 3.4 that came with my XPS.....THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I WONT DEAL WITH DELL ANYMORE.....that and the very poor customer service and the support...seems Dell will use cheaper parts in their systems to keep prices low...2 weeks after my warranty expired my floppy died.......hardly used it...replaced it with one I have had for over 6 years...I realy love the look and the lights of the xps laptops but I wont take a chance on Dell anymore.
Shame I have been a Dell customer for over 6 years....the person I know who is on the XPS team said he wished Dell would have recalled the 6800gt BUT THEY REFUSED........even after they knew and people were haveing problems they still sent them another 6800gt...I went thru 3 before I went out and just bought my own....all the machines I build I use BFG's cards in them ...they perform better than most of the other nvidia cards and they offer a true lifetime warranty...to be honest in my wifes machine I put a 5200 ultra agp card in it and it would perform better than dells 6800gt...I was shocked..
......I could tell ya a real good story on my last Dell tech support which is another reason why I wont deal with them anymore.....
