Hey guys,

I have an Acer Aspire 1524 Wlmi with 512mb (2x256mb) which comes as standard...

My problem is that my laptop only recognizes 256mb...?

The memory is 2x Samsung 256mb PC2700 DDR333 200pin SoDimm which is what comes with this laptop as standard.

If anyone knows how i can get my laptop to recognize the other ram, please help

Thanks,
Hoff

Try switching the rams in different slots. If not, then one of ur sticks is busted. Was this always the case, or did it recently go down from 512 to 256?

Bad stick, But from what I read the max on that is 2gig's ram -- so why not just purchase a 1 gig stick and drop in there? You won't run dual channel (to my knownledge anyways) but you'll notice a def. difference.
