Can the Lenovo/IBM employee purchase plan be beat for the price?

Thread Starter
If I can gain access to this plan, can anything beat getting a Thinkpad at the discount price? I've been looking at Asus laptops and compared to the Thinkpad price, the Asus seem higher (although it's a little difficult to compare exactly what I'm getting with both systems when pricing them out).

Should I just pick a Thinkpad laptop with the specs I'm looking for and just go for it?

It depends on the given price. I would assume that the IBM/Lenovo employee price would be a great price, and it would be worth it. They are great laptops, and they are very durable. Asus laptops are also nice, and they are also fairly cheap when compared with things of similar quality.

If you think that the IBM/Lenovo prices are close to the Asus prices, then I would have to go with the IBM laptops.

Those IBMs, now lenovo, are great machines, the only thing holding them back for most pple is the price. But if u now get those laptops for the same price as most others, I would have to say thats an awsome thing and u should obv get the lenovo.

Its like making the price of a top of the line bmw the same as an accord, obviously pple will buy the bimmer then.

I have found the shareholder price and employee prices are the same. These discounts are not that great. The exception are special offers, from time to time, that are only offered to employees on specific models and quantities. In these cases you can get a deal.
