i am having a hard time working with screen on 1920 x 1200 , could that problem be solved by overriding the default 60 Hz refresh rate and what would be a good value to override to,will this be safe for the screen

thanks heaps

Really do not change the refresh rate on an LCD screen. They are made for 60mhz. Only adjust the refresh rate on a CRT.

From what I understand...even if you "override" the refresh rate...it wont change as LCD screens dont have a refresh rate the same as a CRT monitor does....thats how I understand it...

true 'dat. Ever notice when you see a crt monitor on tv, unless it has like a super high refresh rate, you see the screen "roll", but when you see a lcd it generally doesn't? I'm pretty sure lcds are designed such that only the pixels that change refresh, while everything else.. well.. they probably still refresh.. but i think it's like all at once.. or something.. or maybe not.. I was pretty sure of myself there for a while, but then I got distracted...

No LCDs can accomodate higher 'refresh rates' -- all the refresh rate is is the amount of times the video buffer is output to the display device per second. Analog display devices use this to repaint phosphors, while LCDs just update their local video buffer (and if anything is changed, they then start the transition to the new pixel state).

That said, there's really little point
