Do you guys think this would fit and work in the E1705 without any problems?

The sony one I have is a piece of crap. Loud while playing dvds and reading various media, as well as very slow burning speeds. Perhaps an external one would be better then I could add a second harddrive.

i have just bought the nec 6750 for my laptop and i used to have the sony, the drive is amazing!!! its so quiet it sound like the fan on low when its at full speed.

burns great the most compatable for all media types.

the sony drive compared to this is chalk and cheese!!!

go for the nec you will be amazed!

so NEC is better but lite on is more expensive?????? why
post #7 of 10
Price isnt everything.. also look at all the reviews that the nec has, now look at the single review that the lite on has. Also they are both 89.99 at regular price and the nec is 20$ off and the lite on is only 10$ off so the lite on isn't usually more expensive

I'm torn between then nec and the pioneer slot loading drive. Price might win at this point because I just aquired a 7900gs
