9860 card reader and 4GB SD

Thread Starter
I have a 4GB transcend SD card and though I can access it through Softstick export on my treo 650, the card reader on the 9860 won't recognize it or tells me it is unformatted and wants to format to 1GB.

Any firmware updates or driver updates for the card reader?

I havent tried SD cards but on an odd side note I had a Sandisk memory stick using with my PSP it worked fine with PSP to USB connection however to use the Sandisk Memory Stick in my reader it wouldnt read. Returned it got a sony one and it was just fine. This was on 9860 motherboard.

I tried both an ADATA and a Sandisk 4GB SD cards and I get the same message. "Card is not formatted". Finally gave up and purchased a USB card reader on Ebay. (First verified that it could read 4GB)

From mobile-support.net, a UK support company for D900T based laptops ...

Memory Card Reader The SD (Secure Digital) card reader bay in this notebook is limited to reading cards of capacity no greater than 1GB. Larger cards may be used but may only be formatted to 1GB (approx 971MB displayed free space).

Im not sure it has to do with the size. I use 2 gig memory stick now I know its not an SD but I couldnt get any other 2 gig memory sticks read but sony ones. So maybe its any SD brand card above 1 gig? just odd.
