XTreme-G MobileForce 91.28-v2.40 RELEASED!!!

Thread Starter
This driver set is version 91.28-v2.40. Being the first ForceWare 90-Series driver released, I'm fairly impressed by this driver. Though not perfect, it's definitely not a craptastic driver. With this driver (as with 84.37 and 84.56) there is no "Stock" version, as apparently, the demand for it was nill. So, no choosing which version of the driver anymore. Just run the installer, that's all there is to it. These use the same v2.40 TweakSet as the 84.37 and 84.56 drivers, as Pr0j3k7 3v01u7|0n (Project Evolution) is currently not at prime-time stages. I will soon be releasing a test (INF ONLY) of the new XTreme-G MobileForce VS (for Windows Vista) line of drivers, so look out for that. So, just as always, have fun, and I hope everything works out!!!

how does this compare to the 84.56 drivers on a 7800 gtx?
I had an issue installing the first time. I uninstalled the previous set, ran driver cleaner, when went to install. The first time, it unpacked about half the files, then the installer went corrupt.. so I was like, whatever, i'll redownload.. happened again, only corrupted earlier in the unpack.. then three more times, each of which, the corruption happened on the first file.. then I did it one more time, and I couldn't even run the installer.. told me it was corrupt.. so i reinstalled the 84.57 (or whatever, cant remember the version).. I was then able to run the preiviously corrupt installer.. doesn't make too much sense at all, and now I'm worried about not havinng a clean install.. Probably osmethign dumb i'm sure, but if anybody ewllse had a similar experience, let me know

ps, I'm using a computer at work that I'm not supposed to be using, so I'm pretty much watching the door to the office the whole time. further, this keyboard sucks, so pardon the awful typing mistakes.

Thx! Installed fine. Scored 8504 with the 7900 GTX...which is pretty much the same score I had with dell's out of the box and other drivers. Im sure these will run great overall though.

Well, i gained 3 points at an equal clock speed with these on 3d mark 06

Lost about 47 points on 3d mark 05 over your previous drivers, but, visual quality is BETTER

Drivers installed fine for me. Logos look great. I did some InstallShield at my previous job. Other than the unexpected but understandable screen flashes while it resets the resolution, it's a good looking install.

My 3Dmark05 scores are pretty much in the same ballpark as with your 84-59s and my original 84-29s, very high 8300s to low 8400s.

I'm an nVidia n00b, having had ATI cards in my last two laptops. Is there a way to have the laptop boot to a profile that specifies the external monitor ONLY, with the laptop screen off? I know there are many ways to quickly and easily toggle or hotkey to the external only, but it doesn't seem to remember that I had it set that way last time on. ATI drivers used to do the same thing, revert to laptop only, but the more recent versions somehow got smarter and remembered external monitor only.

Thx, and keep up the good work Tony!

Great drivers

I really like the new logo and the install went smooth as silk. I was using the 84.56 V3 before install and got, @ 1920 x 1200, an average of 72 fps out of the HL2 stress test with everything turned on high.

I ran the test again with the new 91.28s and had no drop in framerates at the same rez and high settings. I did notice that the IQ was a little better though.

Glad that you're back to your old tricks GeForceTony and keep up the good work. Anymore, when a new driver set comes out, I wait for you to XG it.

Out of curiosity, and because I never really understood what people are talking about when they say that the "image quality has improved", what is that supposed to mean? Is there any objective measure for such statements? Or is it all just imagination? I mean, given identical driver settings, what is there to "improve"? Inquiring minds want to know...

there is no objective measurement, but it includes things like colour richness and smoothness on edges (some drivers may appear to have AA enabled when it is disabled in comparison to other drivers for example). Water in general is a good indicator of image quality, granted there's a bunch of different ways to create water in game, but depending on what you play, water can be drastically improved by a good driver. With some drivers, everything looks dull, and needs massive tweakage in the colour correction department, whereas some look pretty good right out of the gates.. It's really a matter of personal opinion though, and I always shoot for the best performance.. My eyes arn't too great, so I have a hard time noticing little IQ details.

Thx, and keep up the good work Tony!

Dell drivers do this for me, but any others I use I need to manually switch each time. I am using a docking station.

Thanks for the drivers Tony.
I did notice Oblivion does not run as well for me with these drivers

new driver:

with 3DMark06 my score dropped from 5563 to 5504 think I'll switch to the older version

@cdd: What drivers give you the 'best' Oblivion performance? That's actually what I'm doing right now...'shopping around' for the best bloody ElderScrolls driver! It sure is a pain in the ass going through the drivercleaner uninstall-reinstall process only to find the 'same' performance...do you have any suggestions on drivers or how to benchmark the game? Thanks!

@Firestarter: Those scores (with the 'old' drivers) are some of the best I've ever seen...I can see you're running an M90 or M1710 from the T2600 noted in the specs...what are your overclock settings currently at? Is the overclock completely stable? And, most importantly, which are the 'old' Extreme-G drivers to which you refer with your score of ~9860? There are a bunch of 'old' Tony-drivers floating around. Thanks!

I use 84.25s from LV2G, but I'm wondering if there is anything better as well.

These drivers work good for me. However, after I open the new cp and close it, Oblivion and Guild Wars both crash after trying to start them. I can reboot and the games work fine as long as I don't open the new cp. Using the old cp works without a problem. No lingering processes that I can see either. It's not just with the xg, but with any of the 91.28 drivers.

The 'old' version was 84.56-v2.40 and my settings are 600/720 and until now they're running stable (looped 3Dmark 05 for about one hour and there were no problems) but I think I can't get more...
