I have an HP Compaq nx9010 using a NEC ND-5100a cd/dvd drive. Previously I was able to read CD-ROM, play music CD and read DVDs. However, I cannot read CD-ROM anymore. I tried a DVD and it did not play either. I tried a music CD, it did not play at first but after re-booting it did open the CD but playing it slowly (cracked sounds).
I have Windows XP SP2 (with latest updates). I have also tried most updates from HP support site for drivers/software.
I am totally lost - please help. Thanks
