NP 3880 Problems

Hi, I owned my 3880 for probably less than a year now and I have some issues with it.

1- I purchased a PCMIA TV Tuner card and installed it on the laptop and stuff like that, when I hook up the ps2 to the card. The video thats being sent from the ps2 to the laptop screen is a funky (funky as in lines are going across, picture is barely visable, and everything is blurry). When I connected it to my sisters dell laptop, it worked fine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

2- I tried updating the video card driver on the 3880, but then it always says that my video card is not the same as the driver downloaded..... I tried downloading it straight from Sager and from Nvidia (assuming that I have a Nvidia GeForce Go 6600, also is listed under the Device Manager area). Whenever I play Battlefield, in the beginning message it always says please update your video card.

3- Is there anyway to disable the front 3 buttons from working?

Thanks in advance if you all can help me out on these questions. !!!!

1- is that the AVerTV Cardbus? I purchased one of those when I got my 3880 and had problems with the video, lines I think too. But erh no I don't know how to fix it; I ended up just sending it back after contacting the manufacture- maybe the graphics card driver needed to be updated (I didn't know about laptopvideo2go), even disabling the camera didn't work- which is what I thought it was.

2- to update the graphics driver I think/know you need to go over to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and look around for one you want. Try searching on the forum for which one you may want. The packages they have include a ini file that lets you install new drivers.

3- not a clue.

So you're not only on the PCMIA tuner card thing and you know where to get the drivers, I think that maybe deserving of a few of worshipers.

[No spell check right now]

Thanks alot for your help. Nah mine is the SmartTV tv tuner card. I "upgraded" the video card drivers from laptopvideo2go website, and tried re-installing the tv tuner card and stuff like that. Still no luck.

Try getting a BIOS update and see if that solves the problem. Just email sager and say you need BIOS update for 3880.

Bios Update

Hmm for some reason when I emailed Sager to request a Bios Update, they never send me an email back saying anything......

Thread resurrection. THe latest bios update (I believe March 2006) fixed my PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS crackling because the PCMCIA adapter wasn't giving them enough bandwidth. The bios update fixes this issue and so it should fix your TV Tuner.

give them a phone call first about your issue. It seems to me i had no problem getting it when i made a phone call. Provide some pictures to them. I took pictures of my screen. I sent them it and within 24 hours i got a new bios update.

Be sure to include the serial number of your Sager unit and also your email address.
