I have met both Michael and Roy. Roy is a prince who truly understands Disney-the ideals, foundation, and magic that has made Disney the second most widely recognized brand in the world (second to Coca-Cola). It is time for Michael to leave and Roy would be the logical choice to run things. The big BUT here is that Disney (I was an intern at the corporate headquarters way back when) has its own culture and traditions and for it to incorporate into another company would be the certain death of these things that are so vital in making Disney-Disney. Most don't know that within the Walt Disney Company there is a division known as Disney University where they teach all employees the ideals, heritage and history of Disney. They also offer classes free to employees on a wide variety of topics and issues ranging from leadership skills to the history of animation. I just don't see these being vital areas to a big ugly corporate monster like comcrap. The 2 summers that I was an intern at the world headquarters in Burbank was the time of my life...I was never happier. If it hadn't been a calling for medicine I am certain I would be working there now...The only way Disney will stay and be Disney is to stay independant....Being a shareholder I have already written letters to the Board demanding they fight off this hostile bid. It is all I can do but hope that Disney has the fight in it to come out on top...
