The emachine M68XX Series notebook DOESN'T Come with a Dedicated 128mb of video memory, it only come with 64mb, so, maybe they got the specs WRONG? unless they put in a different Motherboard, but I kinda doubt it very seriously, also the OS is MISSING as Well................ How-in-the-hell can they sell that WITHOUT an OS, sounds fishy to me? I would never TRUST EBAY for anything, just my 2 cents?

Looks like someone got a helluva good deal on it. $390. The seller looked totally legit, although not alot of feedback, all positive.
I bought my M6809 off ebay plus 2 new harddrives and a separate drive caddy.

When I was looking around for laptops, the big scam was the Acer Ferraris, which were invariably some little con from Eastern Eu or China that said "email me privately and get this for way cheap."

Apparently scammers don't think enough of emachines/gateway to offer a phantom one in their scheme. lol!

well it was a business notebook and they had installed XP Pro on it (and removed it because it was their license), maybe he didnt have any restore cds to put the original OS back on after they formatted the data?

No, the 1st one listed sold for $390, and he doesn't have a reserve. Same pics because the guy is selling off multiple laptops that his company has prolly upgraded from, would be my guess, and they all prolly have the same cracks, etc. He mentions the no O.S. as his company wiped the HdD.
Good price, imho.

The (potentialy) good part is, if they simply wiped the original OS and installed their own pro, if they left the CoA on the bottom, you can put home back in it (provided you have access to a Home OEM CD). Legally, the CoA must stay with the laptop. OEM CoAs are not legally transferrable to a ifferent machine. @ around $400, it would be a STEAL.

I have one question and am sorry if this violate any rule. Since I don't own any XP CD, can I install warez XP home OEM & make use of COA on the bottom of my laptop???

Have you considered getting some Replacement Restore DVD's from the OEM for your Laptop, they are mostly FREE, and you just pay for the shipping? just call and tell them you LOST or Misplaced them

Well, I still have my recovery DVD. I was actually thinking of doing clean install.
Many people claimed that clean install make it runs faster.

Any install disk will work, and be legal, with the COA on the bottom of the laptop as long as it is a home oem version. The restore disks cost like 25 bucks from emachines.
