But...when I was looking at the processor speed in the properties it said something like 1.57 or 1.59...I thought this thing was supposed to be at 1.8mhz? I have it plugged in only at this time. Also, when looking at the properties of the hard drive, I can't find where it tells you the speed of the hard drive.
First the speed; it runs faster when you push it harder, slower when you aren't; it's a 'feature' called "PowerNow!" technology (AMD WHITEPAPER PDF: http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...Power_Now2.pdf
) and it can be worked around by the changing the Power Settings mode I point out in my previous post in this thread.
As for your harddrive, go to your Start-->My Computer and RIGHT click on 'My Computer', click on Properties, then the tab marked Hardware, then Device Manager, then Disc Drives. Take note of the model number, mine is the Toshiba MK6021GAS. A quick search online shows that I have the 4200 RPM version with the 2MB cache.... it's the slowest version. I wonder how much difference it makes, this thing is STILL a screamer!
When it comes to bragging rights against others with the faster HDD, I lose... but personally I'm not too worked up over it, ya know?
