might be re-considering the e1505

ok, i wanted an e1505 because i would be able to move it around class, and even game on it if i wanted. but now that the 7900GS card came out for the e1705, i might get that, but people say its big and heavy. can anyone relate the size and weight to something else, so i can have a better understanding of how big and heavy it might be? cause my friend brought his 6000D (i think) laptop one day, and i thought that was pretty light.
*also, i have an old latitude c840 to compare to, if that means anything

1705 bad for carrying around school.

1505 not the best, but much better.

ive had both the 9300/6000. i stuck with 6000 for size/weight (even though it only has a piddly x300)

Get the E1705. It is literally a desktop replacement and will suite all of your needs for a few years. The 7900 GS is a great card and it willrun a couple hours off battery for a class or two if you need to take notes. You can't go wrong. I just feel that the additional 1.5 lbs and a bit more footprint is worth it considering that the graphics card is WAY more powerful than the one in the E1505. Plus consider that with mods you can put in a 512 meg 7900 GTX and be good to go at reasonable gaming settings for at least 2 years.

Why would the 7900 GS not work in the E1505 when it becomes available as an upgrade part?

Use search. There have been threads about it. It simply does not fit. It is a different form factor.

the average human head weighs 8lbs.

so it's pretty much like carrying around a head, only without the dripping blood.
