Wow thanks for the link on the keyboard bulge. From reading it, it's totally incomprehensible, but maybe when I have the system in front of it'll make more sense. Hopefully I won't have the problem, but believe you me I'll be taking it apart if I do!

Mine says it's shipping out tomorrow now. No overnight for me though so I'll get it next week.

Yeah. I'm probably going to wait for someone else to try/explain it, if I do have the issue. Ordered yesterday, recieved the confirmation e-mail minutes later, but there's no order status yet. The estimated date of arrival is July 3rd. Luckily, I'm a pretty patient person.

What cases are you guys going to be using for the system? Any recommendations?

I have a Sumdex Impact Guard sleeve that was a little large for my 10" ultraportable. I measured the inside dimensions and they're almost EXACTLY the dimensions of the M1210. I'm hoping that it will fit.

Mine won't be delivered till next week, even though it is now in the UK (came across from Limerick in the Republic or Ireland) the earliest available delivery date from the courier is Monday

On the topic of sleeve cases for the M1210 I'd be really interested to know which ones fit.

Can you post a picture or link to this case...? I was thinking of getting one of the new case logic neoprene cases:

(lists various neoprene cases... i just cannot find one that specifically will fit this laptop yet)

There are two models that may, or may not fit.
http://www.sumdex.com/core/impactguard.asp
I have the smaller one made for 10" laptops (I had a Fujitsu P7010D) and it was a little big for it. The interior dimension is listed as being 11" x 8.5" x 1.75" but I noticed that it's actually a little larger and is around 11.7"X9"X1.75" when I measured it using a ruler...which is almost the identical dimension of the M1210. I'm guessing that it will fit, but it may be tight. I'll see when it gets here I guess. The 12" model should fit find, even with the 9-cell battery.

*edit* This is not your typical neoprene case. It's uses the same "shock" resistent material that's used by Shinza in their Zero Shock sleeves.

I like the look of those cases. There are, however, two problems I see.

1.) Where do you put the AC adapter?
2.) You can't appear to use a shoulder strap with it.

Am I incorrect?

You are correct on both accounts. It's designed more to be a protective sleeve than a stand alone case. The little handles are pretty nice, but I use it in conjunction with a backpack.

D'oh! Any nice standalone cases similar to that neoprene thingy?

Thanks for the responses, guys.

I also have this bag:

which fit my old 700m perfectly. I would guess that it will fit the M1210 very well too. It's a nice bag that was designed for the smaller Mac notebooks, but Brenthaven doesn't make or sell it anymore. It's small, but holds everything you need.

*edit* I see someone selling them (the black model) on eBay for $20 + $15 shipping. Pretty good for a bag that used to cost about $80-90.

What the devil? They just starting showing my order information. It's already down to 6/19/06 from the 7/03/06 that it was when I ordered it a couple days ago. =)

It's not showing any detailed information on which state of production it's in though; the little diagram thing they have (at least on Dell.ca) only shows Order Processing -> Pre-production -> In Production -> Delivery Prep -> Shipped
