Does anybody know how these will handle with heat, specifically between a 5400 vs. 7200 RPM hard drive?
Yea, i reordered with a 4-year warranty, need to cancel the first one now...
Don't forget the 2% DPA discount if you have a DPA account. 2% off and no intrest for 12 months ftw.
So now the big decision is between a 5400 RPM vs. a 7200 RPM drive... I don't want this thing to heat up like the sun, and am wondering if the 7200 RPM drive i chose will do that or not... anybody with more experience have any input?

The 7200s do run hotter, but I don't think anyone knows yet how much that will impact the M1210, since no one has one yet.

My advice is to go with the cheapest hard drive you can get and to buy a replacement from Newegg, etc if the one you get doesn't meet your needs.

So quick question... if you use this DPA card, can you just turn around and pay off the balance using an AMEX card?

Thanks,
Nick

The DPA account is just like a credit card. You might be able to do a balance transfer off of it, but other than that you pay by check.

750 off coupon is dead =(

Just a quick question, when Dell makes a mistake with a coupon like letting it work with a system that it's not supposed to, do they always honor the order?

Not always...My guess is that the EPP orders MAY (may or may not) get cancelled because they specifically state "Excludes XPS systems". The 35% off coupon only specifies "Excludes XPS M1710 notebooks".

nope.... its hit or miss as we like to say... Depends on if they feel nice or not. But on the upside, if they cancel it, usually you can get a free coupon out of the deal for money off on your next order...

1 off use coupon i'm guessing right? I'd buy one of these, if I could get a $750 off of $2000 coupon or such. But XPS coupons really hard to come by.
